I’ve written a good number of case studies for my IT sector client, Atech. Each is a 2 page A4 overview of the company’s work with a particular client. My tone of voice is clear, succinct and businesslike, but maintains a lightness and informality that is now appropriate for so much business comms. Series of case studies for IT consultancy Atech
Migration of legacy infrastructure to modern Cloud platform, facilitating multi-office collaboration as part of global growth plan.
Bravo Investment House is an integrated property investment, development and management company, offering investment advice, sourcing financing and managing over 1 million sq. ft of residential, commercial and hospitality assets with an outstanding record of performance. Bravo is a pioneer in the UK Build-to-Rent market. Bravo adapts to constantly evolving markets and trends, looking for opportunities to add value through, for example, unlocking complex sites, turning around distressed assets or applying innovative financing solutions.
Why Bravo Investment House came to Atech
Bravo needed to improve the performance of its legacy on-premise infrastructure, then hosted at its London offices. With ageing infrastructure and regular performance issues impacting the ability of its users to conduct day to day business functions, Bravo recognised the need for change as the first phase of a new digital transformation program.
Bravo selected Atech because of our experience in Cloud migration, and our Microsoft Gold Partner accreditation.
Our project approach
We presented a clear strategy and migration plan. This involved first conducting a technical workshop with Bravo to gather and understand requirements. We then developed a technical project plan and business case, including projecting ROI for the project. A proof of concept was then created, with full User Acceptance Testing (UAT) carried out to mitigate disruption, before implementation.
With a digital transformation strategy to align the company’s goals and objectives with its technology roadmap, Bravo clearly needed an intelligent Cloud platform with geo-redundant backups.
A detailed assessment of public Cloud providers indicated that Microsoft Azure offered the most suitable technical solution. In addition, Azure aligned with the broader technology roadmap of the business.
Carefully planned and scheduled in consultation with Bravo Investment House’s COO so as to reduce disruption for the business and its users to the minimum, implementation of the migration plan was carried out seamlessly and efficiently.
Migration was carried out using Azure IaaS and PaaS, with Exchange being migrated to Exchange Online.
Migration to the Microsoft Cloud has given Bravo a highly available platform, delivering SLAs of 99.95%.
With a technology vision which called for a single, business-wide platform, the new environment allows for Bravo’s global expansion, supporting multiple offices throughout the UK and enabling the business to collaborate and share resources cost effectively.
With migration complete, we planned the introduction of a modern desktop. Using the available features in Microsoft 365, all files and folders were migrated to SharePoint and OneDrive with governance and security implemented through Enterprise Mobility + Security and Windows 10.
We provide Bravo with ongoing, 24/7/365 support, maintained and managed by our team of Microsoft Certified Professionals, and deliver service and optimisation as part of ongoing quarterly reviews.
