This news release by VoD provider Viewster announces service upgrades and new benefits to those already subscribed to the company’s mail list. I’ve softened the tone of voice from that I normally use in Viewster’s press releases, electing for a friendlier and more conversational pitch to people who are already connected to the brand. Viewster heads for Q4 with new content, new look and new apps.

Viewster is preparing to launch itself into Q4 2012 with an exciting overhaul of its site, and with four major series heralding the addition of streaming TV shows to its offer.

The new incarnation of our fast-growing VOD movie platform features a totally redesigned site layout, along with enhanced back end capacity to support improved traffic handling, performance and advertising delivery.

“This is a major step forward for Viewster”, said CEO Kai Henniges. “It’s exciting to move towards the end of a successful year by improving the experience our users have on our site, and by giving them top quality streamed TV content, as well as enhanced infrastructure to support their experience.”

New site, new apps and new, streaming TV shows.

Our new look site gives users improved navigation, making it easier to find the movies they’re looking for. Movies will be searchable and presented in a clearer way (on both the site and on connected devices), while the new ‘What’s Hot’ section provides up-to-date information on movies, actors, and TV shows.

Two new iOS and Android apps, launched at the same time, will also showcase the new Viewster design, while providing both users and advertisers with seamless, cross device delivery. Connected devices will be updated with the new look Viewster, as manufacturer approvals are secured.

The drive also brings streaming TV shows to Viewster for the first time. Hit series like The Border, Heartland, The Killing, and The Republic of Doyle lead the way, creating an even richer content choice for Viewster users. More hit shows will follow.

Behind the scenes upgrades support new look Viewster.

Viewster’s revamp isn’t restricted to user experience, however.

“As we make the platform more attractive,” explains Viewster CTO, Jörg Bocksberger, “we are confronted with a continuous and substantial increase in views.” To this end, Viewster’s back-end has been completely re-engineered to meet the rising traffic demand scalably. The new system significantly reduces load times and improves overall performance. A further capacity upgrade will be implemented in the coming weeks, Bocksberger confirmed.
