An E-commerce copywriter usually authors two different kinds of copy: the ‘environmental’ copy that gives an e-com site its brand story and context; and the ‘catalog’ copy that provides introductions for each product category and sub-category; and the brief thumbnail and full-length descriptions of the individual products. At the product level, as well as writing the descriptions seen on the page, the database may call for a range of other content fields to be filled, includingdescriptions and image tags.
